Zak graduated from the University of Houston, receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics. He then returned to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex to attend Texas A&M University School of Law where he graduated number three in his class and was a member of Law Review. He was selected by the New York Yankees in the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft and was a four-year starter at the University of Houston. Zak enjoys spending time with family, sports, traveling, and cooking on his Traeger, aspiring to be a backyard Pit Master.
